I'm part of the Explore Arizona/Travel team. I love the job because it gives me a chance to go places I might not go and see things I might not see if left to my own devices. I also write the occasional weather story, which makes sense to anyone who has known me for a long time. I've been curious about the weather since I was a little kid. In my spare time I like to take things apart and put them back together. Most often I do this with guitars, my car or our house. If something breaks, my first thought isn't to call a repairman or replace it, but to pick up a screwdriver and figure out what's wrong. This doesn't scare my wife as much as it used to because she's learned to trust I will (usually) admit when I'm stumped and call someone who actually knows what they're doing. I guess I've always been curious about how things work. That curiosity and a desire to explain things often finds its way into my work.
